Wow, I hadn't realised how long it had been since I put anything up in here. Well, I'm finally starting to settle back into normal life again... at least I think I am. I've resupplied and I'm ready to start producing once more.

I'm fighting hard to make this work, but there are still so many obstacles in my path. Last week, I made my second application to Ai Fort Lauderdale. I'm still waiting on word back, but I still have to work on many things. Most of all, my ACT. I had never taken it during high school and now I fear every day that passes since then decreases my chances of succeeding. Also, I have to make up a portfolio to send in, which is easier, but still so hard. I have no means of scanning or mailing such to them. I'm working out what I can, but if I can scan them I'll be sure to post some in here.

New Shhtuff

Well looks like the old dog finally learned some new tricks. I finally got a few more items of interest up that I felt were worth sharing. Best thing is that soon things will hammer out around here and I'll have plenty of free time, or as our dear friend Mr. Lector might say; "I have all the time in the world. I have oodles..."

  • Mood: Eager
  • Listening to: Bickering Officers
  • Reading: The Dark Tower for the 3rd time
  • Watching: You
  • Playing: with Matches
  • Eating: With a new diet.
  • Drinking: Sweet Iced Tea

Dear god I'm in hell.... and it's filled

I crossed two oceans,
To show my devotion,
To the land of the free and the home of the brave.
But since I arrived here,
More likely is my fear,
I'll snap under the tension and may misbehave.
Fires away again in Mortaritaville,
Prayin' I make it through the final assault.
Some people say that there's an arab to blame,
But I know (Du du-du-du du du)
It's all Dubbya's fault.

Musically inclined I may be... Anywho, here's my first deployment update. I was shipped out from Augusta GA to Bangor Maine, got to meet my IDOL! In person, sadly my books were all in my bags, no signings. then it was an 18 hr flight to Germany, and before we reboarded one of the engine blew out, so we spent the night. Then I spent a few weeks in Kuwait. Think of the worlds largest heated kittybox.... Anyway, I then spent a few weeks in Balad Air Base, Irag, A.K.A. Mortaritaville. Now I have just yesterday arrived at my mission assignment in Bagdad, and from the looks of things I will be making frequent visits, and if I can manage a decent shot with my camera, or find a scanner, I might even have a sketch or two for prying eyes. PS: Bagdad, being caught between the two rivers, is OVERRUN with turtles as well as terrorists. They're watching me with those beady black eyes, those eagle like beaks..... AHH!
